Bryan DesMarteau is the Managing Member of Apex Valuation
Consulting LLC. He has been appraising interests in privately-held
businesses on a full-time basis since 1998. Since that time,
he has performed nearly one hundred appraisals for a variety
of purposes, including business purchases and sales, shareholder
disputes, marital dissolutions, and estate and gift tax activities.
These projects have involved companies with annual revenues
ranging from less than $200,000 to nearly $200,000,000.
Mr. DesMarteau's professional credentials
include the Certified Business Appraiser designation, a distinction
granted solely to individuals who meet high levels of valuation
training and experience and who have proven their competence
through education, examination and a rigorous peer review
process. The CBA accreditation process often takes over a
year to complete, and only one in seven applicants succeed
in obtaining CBA status each year. Nationally, approximately
400 business valuation practitioners hold this prestigious
designation. Mr. DesMarteau has served as an expert on behalf
of both taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service, and has
published multiple articles on business valuation and financial
performance.
Although he is not actively engaged in
the practice of law, Mr. DesMarteau is a licensed attorney
and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association. His prior
experience includes working in mergers and acquisitions with
an investment banking boutique and with the personal financial
planning department of Merrill Lynch. He has a Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration (in Finance) from the University
of Denver and a Juris Doctor from the Creighton University
School of Law
